Resilience and Beyond: How to Draw upon the Body to Cope, Adapt and Thrive in Challenging Times

led by creator of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and SPI founder Dr. Pat Ogden

This webinar addresses the ongoing effects of past, current, and recurrent trauma, including the pandemic, racialized trauma, and oppression. The physical correlates of surviving and growing from adversity are clarified and a variety of skills are explored:

  • regulatory skills to implement in the face of ongoing stress and adversity
  • attentional skills to interrupt detrimental patterns and foster new ones
  • physical actions to support connection, cultivate self- compassion and welcome difficult emotions

Through lecture, cases examples, and experiential exercises that can also be used with clients, participants will walk away with a set of body-oriented skills to support resilience and growth on mental, emotional, physical and spiritual realms, even in the face of ongoing adversity:

  • 3 hours of teaching from Dr. Pat Ogden
  • Worksheets to be used with clients relevant to developing resilience, adapted from the book Sensorimotor Psychotherapy: Interventions for Trauma and Attachment by Pat Ogden, PhD and Janina Fisher, PhD.
  • Recordings to replay at your convenience for a full year
  • Plus transcripts, a handout of slides, and an article on this topic all for you to reference and keep
