Sensorimotor Psychotherapy
for Complex Trauma:
Fostering Embodied Safety

Live Online Learning from Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute
Available for a limited time only!
Approved for 1.5 CEs

For many survivors of complex trauma, experiences of safety, connection, and coherence can feel difficult to access.

Complex trauma is often accompanied by dissociation, fragmentation, and disruptions in the felt sense of safety. Clients may experience different parts of themselves holding distinct emotions, beliefs, memories, impulses, and survival responses.

This live online session explores how Sensorimotor Psychotherapy supports clinicians in working with these embodied experiences by cultivating somatic safety and mapping dissociative parts.

Learn how to identify and track the physical correlates of parts, recognize characteristic patterns of arousal, and support communication between parts through posture, movement, and mindful awareness.

Through a combination of theoretical understanding and experiential learning, presenters Marko Punkanen and Lisa Stokkeland will explore how clinicians can foster greater safety, connection, and cooperation within the body.

 What Becomes Possible
with Sensorimotor Psychotherapy?

When we include the body in our clinical work, new pathways open.

Sensorimotor Psychotherapy offers a framework for understanding how complex trauma is organized in the body and how embodied awareness can support greater communication and cooperation among dissociative parts. By working with posture, movement, sensation, and nervous system responses, clinicians can support the development of greater safety, connection, and internal cooperation.
