Emily works primarily with clients who have complex trauma, including developmental trauma, dissociative experiences of all types, and attachment and developmental injury. She values her clients' ability to survive and works to help them continue to develop and strengthen those qualities. She views therapy as collaborative and believes that clients are their own experts. Trauma survivors are the strongest people she knows, and she trusts her clients' inherent ability to heal. Emily often works best with clients who have reached the end of the line, having tried other forms of therapy and not felt successful. She also has experience helping clients with chronic illness.
Emily is also a Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Approved Consultant and enjoys working with therapists who are interested in deepening their skills and applying the principles to their work.
