Beginning Level 2 is a meaningful step in deepening your clinical skill and expanding your capacity to support clients navigating developmental and relational wounding.
Level 2 builds upon core SP skills and introduces maps and interventions that help clients make meaning from implicit memory, reshape relational patterns, and transform painful emotions rooted in early experiences. You’ll work with survival-based adaptations while supporting clients in expanding their capacity for connection, choice, and fuller engagement with life.

Students expand their SP framework to:
- Identify and articulate developmental and relational patterns
- Work with adaptive strategies shaped by personal, cultural, collective, and transgenerational contexts
- Translate nonverbal, implicit memories into meaningful clinical information
- Track posture, movement, and gestures that hold relational wounds
- Introduce somatic and verbal experiments to shift entrenched relational habits
- Support clients in reworking limiting beliefs and their somatic components
- Engage the therapeutic relationship, the “child” state, and adaptive strategies with clarity and skill
- Integrate treatment techniques for clients with both attachment-related injuries and unresolved trauma
By the end, students can conceptualize developmental and relational injury through a deeply contextualized lens and support clients using three primary avenues of SP: adaptive strategies, parts of self (including child states), and the therapeutic relationship.
Total Contact Hours: Approximately 126
Format: 7 or 10 multi-day modules (21 days total)
Timeline: Modules typically spaced 4–8 weeks apart; most students complete the program in 12–18 months.

Identify manifestations of cognitive schemas in the body, connect meaning making to relational interactions, and learn interventions to transform limiting beliefs
Therapeutic Enactments
Develop a bottom-up approach to understanding and negotiating therapeutic enactments.
The “Child” State of Consciousness
Describe the connection between early memories and child parts that holds the pain reflected in limiting beliefs and procedural learning.
Integration of Treatment Techniques for Developmental Injury and Trauma
Demonstrate how to work with clients who present with both attachment-related issues and unresolved trauma
Action Cycle
Describe the four steps of the action cycle: insight, response, nourishment, and completion.
Current Issues
Identify patterns of themes and adaptive strategies that underpin current issues.
Three Avenues
Explain how the Three Avenues for processing – adaptive strategies, the child state, and the therapeutic relationship – exist within and are shaped by historical and contemporary contexts.

Students are required to complete 4 hours of individual or group consultation.
These hours are designed to enrich your learning in ways that the classroom alone may not, providing space for individualized guidance, integration of course material, and deeper support in applying SP to your practice.
💡 Note: Consultation fees are not included in tuition.

- Group consultation: $20–$80 per hour
- Individual consultation: $120–$250 per hour
You may choose any Approved Consultant, Consultant Intern, or SP Trainer. Consider factors like location, time zone, practice focus, client population, goals, format (in-person or Telehealth), and fees. All are trained to support your integration of SP into clinical practice.

Successful completion of Level 1: Sensorimotor Psychotherapy for the Treatment of Trauma. This provides the foundation needed to fully engage in the advanced training.

1. Application Fee
A non-refundable application fee of $25 is required with your completed application and résumé/CV to formally apply. Paid by debit or credit card.
⚡ The payment method used for your application fee will also be used for any transactions upon acceptance.
2. Tuition, Deposits & Payment Plans
Step 1 — Choose Your Deposit Option
During your application, select your preferred deposit option:
- Pay upon acceptance
- Pay later (processed 30 days before the training begins)
- The $500 deposit counts toward your total tuition.
Step 2 — Choose Your Tuition Balance Option
Select how you want to pay your tuition balance:
- Pay balance in full upon acceptance
- Pay balance in full later (processed on the training start date)
- Pay via a monthly payment plan
3. Payment Plan Details
- Available in 3-month increments up to 24 months
- Equal monthly payments after deposit, discounts, and financial aid are applied
- Includes a one-time, non-refundable admin fee of $100
- Monthly payments will run on the first day of your training
💡 Important: If applying for a scholarship, do not select “balance in full upon acceptance,” as this will process the full tuition balance before any awards can be allocated.

Level 2 includes 126 total contact hours
CE Credit (live attendance only):
126 hours of CE credit, approved through:
LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, & LEPs → Lifespan Learning Institute (LLI)
All other clinicians will receive a Certificate of Attendance.
Trainings offer 126.0 CPD hours.
Key Information:
CE credit is awarded per module; full attendance is required for the module(s) in which you intend to seek credit.
Applications for CE hours will be available through SPILO at no additional cost.
To receive CE credit, you must submit all required CE application materials and comply with attendance requirements.
It is your responsibility to confirm with your licensing board whether CE credit from CME Outfitters or Lifespan Learning Institute meets your state’s requirements.
Out-of-state LMFTs, LPCCs, LEPs, and LCSWs should verify if their board accepts CE approved by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS).
