Continuing education for Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Trainings and select workshops in the United States is co-sponsored by Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute (SPI) and the Institute for Continuing Education (ICE). Please see individual event listing pages for details about co-sponsorship.

International

International events are not sponsored by the Institute for Continuing Education or Commonwealth Educational Seminars. Students requiring CE credit for events outside the United States must contact SPI to confirm availability.

Instructional Methodology

May include lecture, demonstration, audio/visual, experiential practice of techniques, large and small group discussion.

Continuing education credit is offered for SPI Courses in the United States. CE credit is awarded on a Module-by-Module basis, with full attendance required for each Module attended. Partial Module credit is not offered. CE credit is included in the Course tuition. CE verification is mailed to Course CE participants following each Module and when completed paperwork is processed. CE information and forms for continuing education is available on the first day of each Course event.

Learning Objectives

To receive continuing education credit, applicants must complete all CE materials, sign in/out at designated locations, and submit an evaluation form for the sessions attended.

It is the responsibility of the attendee to determine if CE credit offered by the Institute for Continuing Education meets the regulations of their state licensing/certification board.

Psychology

New York: The Institute for Continuing Education is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Psychology as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed psychologists #PSY-0043.

Counseling

Counseling: For counselors seeking credit, The Institute for Continuing Education has submitted a co-sponsorship application to NBCC for this program.

New York: The Institute for Continuing Education is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Mental Health Practitioners as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed mental health counselors. Provider MHC-0016.

Social Work

This program has been approved for 12.00 social work continuing education hours per Module for re-licensure, in accordance with 258 CMR, NASW-MA Chapter CE Approving Program.
Authorization: D-90443-1 thru D-90443-6.

New York: The Institute for Continuing Education is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers, Provider SW-0025.
New Jersey: This training has not been submitted for pre-approval for social workers licensed by the New Jersey Board of Social Work.

Marriage/Family Therapy

The Institute for Continuing Education, Provider 56590, is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists to sponsor continuing education for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs. The Institute for Continuing Education maintains responsibility for this program and its content. This Course meets the qualifications for 12.00 hours, per session, of continuing education credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCC, as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.

New York The Institute for Continuing Education is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Marriage-Family Therapy as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed MFTs, Provider MH-0012.

Non-U.S. Professionals

The Institute for Continuing Education holds no CE provider status with any Canadian or other Non-U.S. licensing/certification boards. It is your responsibility to check the regulations of your licensing/certification board to determine CE requirements for training activities.

Psychologists

CME Outfitters, LLC is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. CME Outfitters, LLC maintains responsibility for these programs and their content.

Nurses

As an American Psychological Association (APA) approved provider, CME Outfitters, LLC programs are accepted by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). These courses can be utilized by nurses to renew their certification and will be accepted by the ANCC. Every state Board of Nursing accepts ANCC-approved programs except California and Iowa, however, CME Outfitters, LLC is also an approved Continuing Education provider by the California Board of Registered Nursing (Provider # CEP15567) which is also accepted by the Iowa Board of Nursing.

Other Mental Health Professionals

Please check with your state board to determine if APA continuing education credits are accepted.
