Continuing education for Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Trainings and select workshops in the United States is co-sponsored by Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute (SPI) and either the Institute for Continuing Education (ICE) or Commonwealth Educational Seminars (CES). International events are not sponsored by the Institute for Continuing Education or Commonwealth Educational Seminars. Students requiring CE credit for events outside the United States must contact SPI to confirm availability.

Continuing education credit is awarded for SPI workshops in the United States on a daily basis, with full attendance required. CE credit is included as part of workshop tuition.

Instructional Methodology

May include lecture, demonstration, audio/visual, experiential practice of techniques, large and small group discussion.

Continuing education credit is offered for SPI Courses in the United States. CE credit is awarded on a Module-by-Module basis, with full attendance required for each Module attended. Partial Module credit is not offered. CE credit is included in the Course tuition. CE verification is mailed to Course CE participants following each Module and when completed paperwork is processed. CE information and forms for continuing education is available on the first day of each Course event.

Learning Objectives

To receive continuing education credit, applicants must complete all CE materials, sign in/out at designated locations, and submit an evaluation form for the sessions attended.

It is the responsibility of the attendee to determine if CE credit offered by the Institute for Continuing Education meets the regulations of their state licensing/certification board.

Psychology

The Institute for Continuing Education is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The Institute for Continuing Education maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

Counseling

For counselors seeking credit, The Institute for Continuing Education will submit a co-sponsorship application to NBCC for the Course/ Workshop. Approvals will be posted on the website for the Course/ Workshop.

New York: The Institute for Continuing Education is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Mental Health Practitioners as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed mental health counselors. Provider MHC-0016.

Ohio: Ohio Board of Counseling and Social Work Board, Provider RCS 030001.

Social Work

For social workers seeking credit, The Institute for Continuing Education will submit an application to NASW for the Workshop/Course. Approvals will be posted on the website for the Course/Workshop.

New York: The Institute for Continuing Education is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers, Provider SW-0025.

New Jersey: Courses and workshops are NOT submitted for pre-approval for NJ social workers.

Ohio: Ohio Board of Counseling and Social Work Board, Provider RCS 030001.

Marriage/Family Therapy

The Institute for Continuing Education is a recognized provider of continuing education by the Texas Board off Marriage and Family Therapist, Provider 177. Florida Department of Health, Division of Social Work, Counseling, MFT, Provider BAP 255, expiration 03/2021.

New York: New York State Education Department’s State Board for MFT, Provider MFT-0012.

California: The Institute for Continuing Education, Provider 56590, is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists to sponsor continuing education for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs. The Institute for Continuing Education maintains responsibility for this program and its content. Continuing education credit varies, depending on the Course Level and Format. Contact the Institute for Continuing Education for specific CE hours offered for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCC, as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.

Social Workers

Commonwealth Educational Seminars (CES) is entitled to award continuing education credit for Social Workers. Please visit CES CE CREDIT  to see all states that are covered for Social Workers. CES maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

New York State: Commonwealth Educational Seminars is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers. #SW-0444.

Licensed Marriage & Family Therapists

Commonwealth Educational Seminars (CES) is entitled to award continuing education credit for Licensed Marriage & Family Therapists. Please visit CES CE CREDIT  to see all states that are covered for LMFTs. CES maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

Nurses

As an American Psychological Association (APA) approved provider, CES programs are accepted by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). These courses can be utilized by nurses to renew their certification and will be accepted by the ANCC. Every state Board of Nursing accepts ANCC approved programs except California and Iowa, however CES is also an approved Continuing Education provider by the California Board of Registered Nursing (Provider # CEP15567) which is also accepted by the Iowa Board of Nursing.
