Trauma is a topic that is close to my heart. I have worked for various organisations who specialise in trauma, including Victim Support, General Counselling Departments with a specialty in domestic abuse, a Hospice, Rape Crisis and Children’s Charities who worked with refugees, migrants, trafficking and exploitation. I have worked with many sorts of trauma, including domestic, sexual, physical, emotional and financial abuse, as well as traffic accidents, medical procedures, exploitation, county lines, war, torture, and witnessing murders. I have worked for several years as a Senior Therapist and Clinical Lead of a London-based Therapeutic Service, running and coordinating the therapists in the team. I currently work as the Clinical Lead for a charity for all counsellors, psychotherapists, psychological therapists and clinical supervision. In addition, I have taught counselling at a college. I run a NCS Quality Checked Foundation Diploma around Therapeutic Safety in Trauma and a Diploma Clinical Supervision. I have set-up several counselling services and created and run various therapeutic trauma groups.
I am a MBACP Accredited member with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, as well as a MNCS Professionally Accredited Member. I am also registered with EMDR UK. I have completed Level 1 of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, which focused on trauma themes within the body.
