Certification Coaches
Certification Coaches are trained SPI staff who support students in the SP Certification Training with skill acquisition. Certification Coaches participate in a training program with supervision by SPI faculty members. Certification Coaches may be contacted by students of the SP Certification Training for extra help at a cost negotiated directly with the Certification Coach.
Sobeira Guillen

Sobeira A. Guillen, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 30 years of experience in education, social work, and mental health, and more than 15 years in private practice. She works with adolescents and adults who have experienced complex and developmental trauma, often compounded by immigration, oppression, chronic community deprivation, violence, and discrimination.
Born in Santiago, Dominican Republic and raised in Harlem, New York City, Ms. Guillen identifies as Afro-Caribbean and practices from a culture-centered, somatically informed, and trauma-responsive framework that honors clients’ identities, belief systems, and lived experiences. She is a Certified Sensorimotor Psychotherapist, Certification Coach, and Consultant in Training. Her integrative approach also includes training in Trauma-Focused CBT, EMDR, and Internal Family Systems.

Grayce Gusmano

Grayce Gusmano, LMFT is a Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor. She is a Certified Sensorimotor Practitioner and Consultant in Training. She is a certified EMDR Therapist and is an EMDRIA-approved consultant in EMDR. Grayce is also a Certified Practioner in Psychodrama. She has advanced trauining in Emotionally Focused Couple’s Work and AEDP. She is a trauma informed therapist and works from an attachment frame. She specializes in complex trauma, couples work and eating disorders. She has presented at several National conferences on attachment and experiential work. Lori Hickman
LPC
Lori Hickman is a Licensed Professional Counselor from Anchorage, Alaska. She is also a State of Alaska LPC board approved supervisor. She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminology at the University of Minnesota-Duluth in 1998 and obtained a Master's of Science in Counseling Psychology in 2003. She is a trained EMDR therapist. Lori started her journey with Sensorimotor Psychotherapy in November 2013. She obtained certification on March 2018 in Los Angeles, CA. Lori works primarily in her private practice with adolescents and adults. She provides individual, family, and couples therapy. She has co-facilitated a Sensorimotor and Yoga group as well. Much of her practice is working with individuals who have experienced trauma and/or attachment trauma and suffer from depression and anxiety. She finds that she often turn to Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and EMDR therapy in her practice and has found that these modalities are very effective in helping individuals with their healing. In her free time, Lori enjoys spending time doing a lot of activities with family, including racquetball, handball, soccer, baseball, and snowboarding. She also enjoys time with her dog Mabel. Lori loves being outdoors, traveling, reading, and playing games with friends.

Robin Kahler

Robin Kahler, LMSW, ACSW (she/her) brings over 35 years of psychotherapy experience across outpatient clinics, hospitals, and private practice settings. Known for her down-to-earth, relational, and playful style, Robin supports students and consultees in simplifying and deeply understanding Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, helping complex material become accessible, embodied, and clinically usable.
A Certified Sensorimotor Psychotherapist, Robin provides educational consultation to Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 students and graduates, as well as coaching for Level 3 students pursuing certification. She works with SP students and alumni internationally and is experienced in accommodating multiple time zones.
Her clinical and teaching focus includes trauma processing, relational and attachment-based wounding, complex developmental trauma, and therapeutic enactments. Robin has advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy and frequently supports clinicians when therapy feels stalled or prior approaches have been ineffective, helping them navigate complexity with clarity, compassion, and steadiness.
Robin’s work is relationally grounded and attachment-focused, with close attention to patterns of betrayal, childhood wounding, and early relational injury. She often incorporates developmental and somatic movement to support work with pre-verbal trauma and attachment patterns, and integrates Sensorimotor Psychotherapy with adults, children, and couples in her full-time private practice in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Robin is licensed in Michigan and Connecticut and holds a Telehealth registration in Florida (see robinkahler.com). She has frequently assisted in all three levels of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy training and has received extensive training and consultation from senior leaders in the trauma field, including Pat Ogden, Janina Fisher, and Kathy Steele. She currently serves as the SPI Local Organizer for Michigan and Ohio trainings and previously served as the Facebook Moderator for Applied SP.

Barbara Phillips, PhD, LICSW is a psychotherapist, consultant, and advocate for the integration of body, emotion, and the mind. Ruth Steenvoorden

Ruth Steenvoorden began her career in the medical field when she qualified with a Distinction of Excellence as a Certified Registered Trauma Nurse and a community Midwife (USA). During this period of work, interest in the relationship between Psyche and Soma deepened, leading her to return to Ireland where she undertook six years of extensive training in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy. She also earned a Higher Diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapy and a Certificate in sudden bereavement for children. Certifying in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy in 2016 in Ireland, she now has over 23 years of experience in the therapeutic field and has assisted on all Levels of the Sensorimotor trainings. She currently divides her time between her own private clinical practice, assisting on Sensorimotor trainings and is a Certification Coach. Ruth’s aim and sincere intention as a Certification Coach is to offer students attuned clarity, sensitivity and heartfelt encouragement during their sensorimotor training.

Margaret G. Woodtke

Margaret G. Woodtke, LCSW, is a Clinical Social Worker who has worked in community and school settings with extensive experience in the fields of eating disorders and grief, using mindfulness and compassion as her overriding principles. A Certified Sensorimotor Psychotherapist as well as a Certification Coach and SP consultant, she has supported students toward certification both in the US and abroad. Margaret also has a Certification in Complex Trauma and brings specialized training in the Structural Dissociation Model. She is also trained in EMDR. The integration of all these models as well as a grounded psychodynamic approach inform Margaret’s work. She holds an MSW from the University of Connecticut. Margaret is in private practice in Connecticut, bringing more the 30 years of experience to her work with individuals, family and group therapy, as well as supervision.
