In 1993, Libby Bergman, LICSW, was one of three co-founders of the Family Enhancement Center; a nonprofit with a mission of preventing and treating child abuse. Libby served as the Executive Director from 2000 to 2024. She provided mental health services to families impacted by abuse as well as program oversight and supervision of 35 staff for over 30 years. Libby continues to deliver mental health services to families impacted by abuse at Psychotherapy Partners. Libby is also active in offering state wide mental health education on the subject of child abuse in a variety of settings. Libby co-chaired the Spiritual Communities Action Team, a state-wide initiative whose goal was to engage spiritual leaders from all faith traditions to address the issue of child sexual abuse. Libby was the recipient of the 2011 Children’s Law Center of Minnesota’s Heroes for Children Award. She was honored again in 2013 with the University of Minnesota School of Social Work Alumna of the Year. Currently, Libby is participant on the Supreme Court Council on Child Protection and Children's Justice Initiative.
