Before I moved to Cape Cod, a received ten years of invaluable psychiatric training at two hospitals run by Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. Once I moved to Cape Cod and started a private practice, I was first challenged to learn about issues regarding addictions which are a prominent factor in this community. Eventually, I became drawn to focus on treatments for trauma, which are often very interrelated with treatments of addictions. I became trained in the two levels of EMDR treatment. And then a few years later I began my long study of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. I completed all three levels and was certified. Subsequently, I went through all three levels again as a teaching assistant.
