Asking for help is hard to do. There are many reasons why people decide to start therapy. Perhaps you are feeling a loss of balance in your life, have disconnected from close relationships, or are having difficulty coping with distress from past experiences. Whatever the reason, therapy can help a person to develop a curiosity for self-reflection, increase self-awareness, encourage productive thinking patterns, implement effective coping strategies, and learn to better regulate their emotions.
I believe each person is an expert in their own life and that we can all benefit from help to reach toward our potential. I use a collaborative approach to therapy that emphasizes client strengths, resilience, and self-determination. I strive to provide a warm and compassionate environment in the therapy room that allows for exploration of any topic without judgment.
I work with adults that would like to address issues such as anxiety, depression, a history of psychosis, trauma, relationship difficulties, life transitions such as divorce, and grief/loss. I use a trauma-focused approach while integrating attachment-based, cognitive-behavioural, emotion-focused, mindfulness-based, motivational interviewing, psychodynamic, and sensorimotor techniques into my practice. I will work with you to find the approach or blend of approaches that best suits your needs. My goal is to help you meet your stated therapy goals plus to deepen self-awareness, build resilience, and foster a sense of safety.
