Welcome! It takes an immense amount of courage to seek out therapy. When we experience trauma or hardship, our nervous systems have to figure out how to survive. Sometimes that adaptation may look like people-pleasing, restlessness, dissociation, anxiety, over-functioning, or depression (to name a few). Therapy involves identifying your learned responses that may have helped you survive, but are no longer serving you in your present life. We will work to sit alongside those unwanted patterns and make space for new ones that better serve where you want to be.
I believe each individual is the expert on their own lives. I approach therapy with an integrative, intersectional, strengths-based, and trauma-informed perspective. This means that we will work collaboratively towards your goals, and at a pace where you feel in control of your healing process.
When we are able to safely make space to identify, feel, and sit with our emotions, we can build new neural pathways and break out of unsustainable cognition and behavior patterns. Please feel free to reach out if you'd like to schedule a free 10-15 minute phone consultation. E-mail is the best way to reach me. I look forward to hearing from you!
