I aim to create a soft, gentle landing place for you to unpack your emotions, thoughts, wishes, and experiences, all while knowing you are cared for and not judged. I can be serious and compassionate, and I can also be silly and playful. I love to explore metaphor and stories, and I aim to connect emotions and experiences to the body and its intuitive knowing. I am trauma-informed, feminist, and anti-racist in my approach.
I completed a Master's of Social Work (MSW) at the University of Toronto in 2015, and before that, a Bachelor's in Psychology. I've worked across several settings and populations, including university students, children and families, and adults of all ages. I completed Sensorimotor Psychotherapy for Trauma Themes (Level 1) in 2022 and am currently in training for Level 2.
Many of us did not have the benefit of growing up in an environment that taught us we are lovable and good enough just the way we are.
Others have had painful or traumatic experiences along the way that have led to feelings of anxiety, depression, loneliness, self-criticism...
Through a caring, non-judgmental therapeutic relationship, we can develop compassion for ourselves. We can learn that many of our unhelpful coping strategies were originally developed to protect us in some way. Through learning to love and care for even our hardest to love parts, we can begin to heal the wounds from our past, and move forward in a way that feels intentional and authentic.
