I have been a licensed psychologist for over twenty years, working with adults, children, adolescents and parents. I welcome the opportunity to be curious together to explore your life, your learned experiences and your underlying dynamics. I strive to help individuals increase self awareness, develop new problem-solving strategies and an overall improved ability to cope with life's challenges. I also encourage greater understanding of intergenerational relational patterns, so that you can feel more securely connected, communicate more effectively, and live more confidently, authentically, and meaningfully.
My specialties include: anxiety/stress management, developmental trauma, loss, relationships/intimacy, PTSD, career/school and eating/health challenges. I work with people of all ages, from young children to older adults.
I invest in ongoing learning and integrate SP with other trauma therapies, including EMDR, Internal Family Systems, CRM and Trauma Informed Stabilization Therapy.
I teach embodied relational therapy for complex trauma to interns in the Psychiatry Dept. at Lenox Hill Hospital. In addition to SP, I trained in Psychodynamic, Family Systems and Play Therapy at NYU's Clinical Psychology PhD Program, Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT) at Montefiore Medical Center and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) at The American Institute for Cognitive Therapy.
Rather than being wed to any one therapeutic technique, I work to listen well, so that we can decide what will allow you to avail yourself of your own internal resources. Through this process, you can transform patterns that no longer serve you into positive and effective approaches to life.
