She has 40 years of experience of accompanying children, adolescents, adults and families in their healing journeys through various scientifically grounded approaches. She believes the key to healing is knowing what happened and transforming how the mind, body, and soul integrate the trauma. She is part of the national FEI crisis management team and Critical Incident Stress Management team. She is certified in multiple trauma therapies, including: Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, EMDR Child Specialist, EMDR Sand Tray, EMDR -Treatment for Attachment Trauma in Children and Families, Trauma/tension Release Exercises (TRE). She has also completed Sensorimotor Psychotherapy: Level I: Training in Affect Dysregulation, Survival Defenses, and Traumatic Memory, and Level II: Training in Emotional Processing, Meaning Making, and Attachment repair and Sensorimotor Arousal Regulation Treatment (SMART). Other areas of training include Sensory Processing Disorders, Addictions, Healing Touch, Self-regulation, Mindfulness, Mediation, Yoga, Brain Gym, Psychodrama, Guided Imagery, Art Therapy, Experiential Therapy, Play Therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique, Essential Oils and some of the latest neuropsychology on mental health, pain, disease and the brain.
Lisa has taught as an adjunct instructor in the education department of the Kenai Peninsula College, and has presented internationally as well as throughout Alaska on Trauma, parenting, sensory processing issues in counseling.
