My name is Jake Johnson and I am the founder of Bristlecone Therapy in Wheaton, IL. I've been practicing marriage and family therapy (MFT) for over 15 years. I also work as a professor of MFT at Wheaton College, where I have taught for over a decade. In more recent years I've become a certified life coach, and I am currently the president of the International Family Therapy Association.

Currently, I offer both individual and couple therapy to clients ranging in age from adolescence to older adulthood. I specialize in creating space for clients to explore how old wounds, developmental traumas and shame connect to present life stressors. My approach to therapy is client-centered and experiential. I make use of various somatic and body-based approaches alongside Internal Family Systems work to support clients in finding the freedom they desire.
