I have experience working with folks of all ages struggling with the effects of substance use, relationship difficulties, identity and trauma. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a Masters degree in Counseling. I use a number of psychotherapies including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), solution focused therapy, sensorimotor psychotherapy, motivational interviewing and Mindfulness based sobriety. I specialize in working with Adolescents and adults struggling with substance use. I have special training with working with LGBTQ folks. I am a registered service provided for FNHA working with indigenous people and CVAP.
Since 2010, I have worked as a therapist and clinical supervisor with individuals and groups dealing with the effects of substance use, relationship challenges and trauma. Presently, I work full time for a non-profit organization, Pacific Community Resource Society providing clinical supervision for staff in a bed-based treatment center. I believe in supporting the counsellors I work with to continue to do the best work we can, to support the people who need it the most.
My approach with clients is strength-based and I believe every individual has unique strengths and resilience that can serve as a foundation for their personal growth. I create a safe, respectful, and collaborative therapeutic relationship, where I support individuals to recognize their strengths and wisdom while they move towards the life they want to have for themselves.
