I recognize how the body holds thoughts, emotions, patterns, and energy associated with our life experiences, especially painful or traumatic ones. To help clients heal and process their challenges, I utilize my training in Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help clients access authentic self-compassion and curiosity about their internal landscape. Through assisting clients in accessing greater self-compassion, they can then connect with and heal the parts of themselves that hold painful roles and beliefs in their lives. I help people go inside to learn about their mixed emotions and how to make more space to hold and support the most painful parts of themselves, like parts that feel alone, afraid, conflicted, or even “broken”. I blend IFS with Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, a body-based form of talk therapy that integrates mindful awareness and somatic techniques to help regulate the nervous system and heal traumatic experiences. I also draw from my training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to integrate concrete, mindfulness-based skills and accessible, practical tools into therapy that clients can bring to their daily lives.
