Details
I am a registered clinical counsellor. In my practice, I support people who have experienced challenging or traumatic life experiences ranging from single-incident traumatic experiences, such as unexpected medical procedures, to prolonged challenging or life-threatening experiences such as childhood neglect. Symptoms that arise from such experiences and which people seek support for are increased anxiety, depression, intruding thoughts or flashbacks, sleep difficulties, difficulties with emotion regulation, and dissociation to name a few.
The main therapeutic modality that I use is an integration of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy with attachment theory. From my professional experience, I have this therapeutic modality to best support people in finding a felt sense of safety, in feeling more empowered, and in finding hope in their life. Within my therapeutic approach, I also integrate skills learned from other therapeutic modalities such as Trauma-Informed Stabilization Treatment, Internal Family Systems, Narrative Therapy, Rogerian Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
My therapeutic approach is guided by the six principles of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, by an overarching feminist framework, and by trauma-informed practice that is guided by the latest research in neurobiology. I aim to offer you a safe space for respectful connection, for curious reflection, and for attuned challenge to stimulate growth.
I look forward to being part of your journey of healing and growth.
