Registration is open to all members, students, and allied mental health professionals working in the fields of trauma and PTSD treatment to join us this September for an immersive, two-day event, available free of charge or with an exclusive upgraded registration option including up to six Continuing Education (CE) credits.

This Master Class will be led by Pat Ogden, PhD, SPI Founder, alongside Tracy Jarvis, MSc, UKCP, an experienced and highly regarded Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute Trainer, from September 5 to 6, 2024.

Exploring the use of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy in the treatment of clients who have complex, severe, or chronic responses to trauma or PTSD, we will analyze real-world videos to illustrate how Sensorimotor Psychotherapy approaches can assist clients with even the greatest trauma-related challenges.

What to Expect From Our Free Two-Day Complex Trauma and PTSD Treatment Master Class

Hosted online, both days will run from 9 am until 12 pm (CT). Presentation materials and recordings will be available for up to seven days for free attendees or with ongoing access for participants registering for the TOP Package.

We’ll start with an introductory presentation, followed by detailed video-based client interaction scenarios, with Dr. Ogden contributing as the therapist. This learning format provides a highly comprehensive experience for attendees, who will see how interventions work from moment to moment.

As existing Sensorimotor Psychotherapy practitioners will appreciate, the key difference is that this therapeutic approach doesn’t solely rely on traditional talk therapies or cognitive processing to help trauma survivors process and regulate their emotional, bodily, and behavioral responses.

Instead, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy works with the body to identify, name, track, and undo the impacts of trauma. It challenges how clients with complex trauma experience chronic patterns that can contribute to ongoing distress and fear.

During our two-day presentation, we will highlight how body-oriented techniques can offer a simple, innovative, and effective way to treat even the most complex traumas, recognizing that many trauma responses reside in the body – using that knowledge to help build confidence and stability.

Attending the Innovations in Treating Complex Trauma and PTSD Presentation

Designed for practitioners and professionals at all levels and with varied specialisms, we welcome counselors, social workers, psychologists, mental health workers, psychiatrists, and body workers to join us in September.

This learning event is suited to any attendees who wish to discover the following:

  • How drawing on the body in therapeutic interventions can help boost regulation and confidence, expanding beyond the outcomes achievable through conventional talk therapies.
  • The way therapists and mental health professionals can work alongside clients to study the way they organize and understand present experiences and the residual impacts or responses linked to trauma.
  • Why the wisdom of the body and the somatic effects of trauma can be used to support ongoing healing and work towards a stable, healthy, and regulated future.

Webinar participants joining us free of charge are welcome to access the recordings for seven days, ensuring that attendees from all countries and time zones can benefit from this complimentary educational experience.

Those wishing to gain up to six CE credits can register for the TOP Package through our enrolment pages. Alongside extended access to all webinar materials and video recordings, professional attendees can gain CE credits following the two-day event..

September 2024 Free Master Class in Advanced Strategies for Complex Trauma Treatment Using a Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Approach

The key focus of this Master Class is to provide attendees with the knowledge to introduce Sensorimotor Psychotherapy interventions into their practices and professions immediately, with expert insights and client interaction scenarios included during our video sessions.

Day one, on September 5, looks at phase one of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy treatment, working around client stabilization, with a presentation and demonstration to showcase how this may work in a real-world client session.

Our second day on September 6 will move onto phase 2 of the treatment process, working with trauma survivors with fragmented parts and exploring how practitioners can support clients with traumatic memories following trauma experiences.

As a complimentary webinar, we have opted to host this educational event online to maximize the opportunities for people to attend, whether as part of an initial learning process for those new to Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and somatic interventions or for therapists and practitioners who wish to augment their ability to support clients with severe and complex trauma.

Each three-hour session will be held live via Zoom. The video recordings and analyses of the therapy sessions will be available for seven days or on an unlimited basis for upgraded attendees. Recordings and presentation materials will be circulated via email within 48 hours of the end of the webinar.

Learning How to Introduce Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Interventions in the Treatment of Complex Trauma and PTSD

Over the years since the Institute was first founded in 1981, we have seen an increasing need for effective, well-managed therapeutic interventions to help trauma survivors, particularly for clients who have found that more traditional cognitive and talk therapies haven’t provided them with the tools, skills, and support to heal and move forward.

This latest free presentation is part of our aim to extend awareness of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and share our knowledge about somatic therapies and how the principles and methods behind this modality can help meet the demand for trauma therapies – improving access to effective therapeutic techniques.

Practitioners who offer interventions that address the body within their sessions can use this comprehension to tap into bodily information and target their interventions, addressing physical symptoms alongside the psychological impacts of trauma to deliver a unified healing approach.

Please register today, selecting either free enrollment or the extended TOP Package to access CE credits. You may also wish to join our scheduled Facebook Live session on August 8, 2024, at noon (CT), where we’ll discuss more about the forthcoming presentations.
