Christopher Reeve said, "Once you choose hope anything is possible" and therapy builds hope. I specialize in helping trauma survivors find relief from the effects of traumatic experiences. Trauma happens when our mind and body become so overwhelmed that we cannot process it or make sense of what has happened. Complex trauma is experienced when trauma is perpetuated over a long period of time and the traumatic-state becomes "the norm." Together we will work to build resilience, reduce suffering, affect positive behavioral changes, and learn healthy coping skills.
My commitment to you is to provide supportive, non-judgmental therapy at a pace that is right for you. Some of my beliefs about trauma therapy include: No one can heal alone. Shame withers in the presence of compassion and empathy. Your worst experiences should not define your present or dictate your future.
I am Certified in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and state certified (CA) in sexual assault, domestic violence, and stalking intervention.
